It's Over

for Kris Aquino and James Yap, the marriage that was said to be doomed from the very start. Here's the interview of Kris from The Buzz yesterday:

BOY ABUNDA: Krissy, maraming tanong, maraming opinyon, speculations. This is your chance. We will listen. What do you have to say?

KRIS AQUINO: First, I'm sorry about Tuesday [engagement in Cebu]. For so long, ilang buwan naman na nagampanan ko ang lahat ng tungkulin ko, lahat ng responsibilidad sa trabaho at sa kampanya kahit na mayroon kaming pinagdadaanan sa tahanan namin. It was a sign of weakness on my part not to show up, and I'm sorry about that. I'm sorry that you had to be the one to answer because you felt uncomfortable making up an excuse.

About what we've been through, I think naman Boy hindi lahat sikreto sa inyong lahat, kung ano ang mga napagdaanan namin in our married life. I think also the whole Philippines is fully aware na when my mom was alive and ngayon, my siblings have tried to bridge whatever gaps -- and I mean gaps, marami na kasi. Tinry nila na tulungan kaming ayusin yung mga problema namin.

I have not sat down [with my siblings]...lahat through text -- kay ate, kay Pinky. Through phone, nakausap ko si Viel. Nagtext din kami ni Noy. Siyempre sila lahat, gusto nila sana maayos pa.

I just want to say na whatever decision I have come to, it's not a spur of the moment decision. Hindi ito nangyari na nagising lang ako isang araw at sinabi kong ayoko na. Matagal naming sinubukan. James and I both tried to really make this work.

On my part, what I'm comfortable saying is, with finality I can say, ako sumuko na.

Ang dami kong pinag-isipan kung paano ko maibabahagi sa lahat kung anong pinagdaanan namin without revealing anything painful. But there's no way of doing that.

Last night, mga 4 in the morning, hindi ako makatulog pa. Katabi ko si Baby James, and I think he had a bad dream kasi he started to cry in his sleep. And that's when it came to me, and I'm sure lahat ng mga nanay maiintindihan ako. Kung anuman ang dahilan why this marriage, on my part I'm saying, is over, the only person I will owe and explanation to, and the only person who can demand from me na bakit kayo naghiwalay, is my son.

And kagabi Boy, narealize ko, the worst thing I can do for Baby James is, when he's 7 or 8 years old and mahanap niya sa YouTube yung explanation kung bakit naghiwalay ang nanay at tatay niya. He deserves much more than that. He deserves to hear it only from me and only from James. Because in any separation, there are 2 sides to the story. And we owe it to him, James will owe it to him, that I will owe it to him to explain to him.

But I'm sure you will all understand me. My decision to keep quiet is not because on June 30 magiging presidente si Noy. My decision to keep quiet is because I asked myself 'Kapag inexplain ko kay Baby James, number one mauunawaan ba niya ako? Number 2, rerespetuhin pa ba niya ako? At number 3, mamahalin pa ba niya ako?' At nasagot ko naman kagabi na 'yes.' I know my son will understand me, will respect me and still love me. And I feel that he will love me more, respect me more, and value me more if I keep quiet today.

I know that will leave so many unanswered questions, but those questions, only Baby James deserves to hear the answers to. Siguro Boy, this is part of growing up. It's part of realizing that yes, I am public and I owe all of you an explanation, but apart from God, the only one I'm answerable to is kung di man mga kapatid ko eh ang anak ko.

Because I'm doing this for my son, because he's only 3 years old and he really doesn't deserve na kung ano yung trials na pinagdaanan ng parents niya, kailangang ungkat-ungkatin at ulit-ulitin, wag na.

Kung this will mean na maraming hindi makakaintindi sa akin or sasabihin, ijujudge ako, then let it be. I don't mind. The world can judge me. I just want my son to be able to respect me and respect his father. Because at the end of the day, ang utang namin sa kanya. Kasi ang pinakamaaapektuhan ng pangyayaring ito ang anak ko. To a certain extent, of course, it will affect Josh but it's really Baby James who will really be affected.

And maybe, yung sinasabi ng mom ko sa akin parati na 'Krissy, love is bringing out the best in each other.' Maybe Baby James is really bringing out the best in me. And that's it, Boy. I really hope they understand that this is for my son.

BOY: Naiintindihan ko. Maraming salamat, Krissy. source

I love Shrek

When I searched for Amana Waterpark last Saturday and saw this, I agree with hubby to go there instead of 8 Waves in San Rafael Bulacan. Amana Waterpark is located in Pandi Bulacan, we only used the Google map as our guide.

I will post more pictures later.
Sharing Shrek with Princess Fiona :-)

Don't visit Max's SM Valenzuela branch!

Last Saturday we visited our Godfather/friend priest, Monsignor Bart at his parish in Fatima Valenzuela. We had our lunch at SM Valenzuela so Makoy can take out his favorite chicken at KFC, while I was buying his favorite food, hubby, Nikko and Mons Bart took their order at Max's: fried chicken, fresh lumpia, pancit canton and sago gulaman. I ordered for the bottomless sago gulaman, when I finished the first glass I asked for a refil. Ewww! My second glass has a floating COCKROACH! I don't want to spoil their appetite so I never let them see it, I returned my refilled glass and approached the store manager. To cut the story short, the store manager served me a fresh mango shake instead, I bet she's the one who prepared it to make sure that my beverage is clean. I guess, canned softdrinks and botlled waters are the safest beverages to drink. When you eat at MAX's SM VALENZUELA, make sure to check what you eat and drink or better yet, DON'T visit their store!

here's our smiles without seeing yet the unfriendly cockroach

The Language of Online Games

Additions to the English Language Courtesy of Online Games

"Own" and "ownage." These are two words that developed entirely through the community involved with online games. It's hard to say where "own" came from, but it is constantly used to describe a humiliating defeat in an online game, whether it's a first-person shooter (FPS) or massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). Own in the online sense is still a verb, and used in the context of master and subject; for example, the victor of a fight can say of the loser, "I owned him." Ownage is the noun form, describing massive amounts of power, as in: "There was a lot of ownage going on there."

Massive Win, Epic Fail

Theories suggest that many additions to English that come from online games actually come from the use of incorrect English by foreign players. The weird usages become catchy, and then influence English speakers. "Win" simply means "to win," but instead of using subjects or pronouns, upon victory the winner just says, "Win." Fail definitely comes from around 2000, and was popularized by the poor translation of a Japanese game called "Zero Wing," in which the game says, "You failed it!" upon the loss of a mission.

Today, fail is an insult, and describes all things horrid, wrong, and anything or anyone that loses. It's transmogrified into a noun, as in, "This is fail." The word epic is used to signify anything grand or awesome, and comes directly from the endless use of the word by advertisers to play up every single MMORPG ever marketed, as in, "An epic experience." Epic was originally a sarcastic descriptor, but is now common vernacular for anything massive or impressive, as in, "That was an epic fight" or "An epic fail." These are just a few of the words generated by the players of online games.

Chess

Chess is one of the most popular games today. My kids are already enjoying the game, they asked their daddy to play with them and asked if their moves and tactics were right. Sometimes, when they get bored in playing chess they switched to dama using the same chess set. Maybe next week we will play badminton with them.

Home Mortgage for a First Time Buyer

Buying a home can be an ordeal for a first-time buyer. Finding an affordable home at a reasonable mortgage rate can be easier said than done if you don't do your homework. However, if you know what to do to get yourself the best rate, buying a home for the first time can be the happy experience it is meant to be. Here are some practical tips to consider when getting a home mortgage.

• Shore up your credit.

Getting a good rate is a simple matter if you have good credit. A few months before you start hunting for a house, get copies of your credit report and make sure your credit history is as clean as possible. If you have potential problems, fix them right away.

• Look for what you can afford.

Everybody wants an opulent mansion. Nevertheless, buying the biggest and best house is not always the best option. A rule of thumb for taking out a mortgage is to buy a house that runs a maximum of two and a half times your annual salary. Any higher than this and the rate may be too steep for you.

• Choose carefully between points and the mortgage rate.

When you choose your mortgage, you will typically have an option of paying additional points at closing in exchange for earning a lower interest rate on your mortgage. If you plan to stay in your house for more than 3 to 5 years, taking extra points could result in long-term savings. If it is a starter house, though, a lower interest rate may not matter as much in the short term.

• Get pre-approved.

Pre-approval from a lender will put you in a better position to make a serious bid when the right house comes along. Your chances for pre-approval are influenced by your actual annual income, current debts and credit history.

June 30, A Special Non Working Holiday

Good News! President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has declared President-elect Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III's inauguration on June 30 (Wednesday) a special non-working holiday, a MalacaƱang official announced Thursday.

Presidential Management Staff chief Elena Bautista-Horn said presidential spokesperson Ricardo Saludo will issue a statement about the holiday declaration.

The inauguration of Aquino, the 15th Philippine president, at the Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park (formerly Luneta) in Manila is expected to be simple, but star-studded.

Aquino is slated to fetch Arroyo from MalacaƱang. When they arrive at the Quirino Grandstand, Arroyo will be given arrival honors.

The 2 presidents will shake hands and then Arroyo will make her exit.

According to inaugural spokesperson Manolo Quezon, Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and House Speaker Prospero Nograles will read the proclamation.

Vice President-elect Jejomar “Jojo” Binay will then take his oath, followed by Aquino.

A 21-gun salute to the new commander-in-chief will follow and then he will deliver his inaugural address.

At this point, there will be a slight break in tradition because inaugural committee co-chair Maria Montelibano said this was a people’s campaign and Aquino is the people’s president.

“Panata ng taong bayan... ‘Di lang dapat ang pangulo ang mag-o-oath taking,” said Montelibano.

The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and the Madrigal Singers will perform “Bayan Ko.”

After the inauguration, a Cabinet meeting and an inaugural reception are scheduled at the Palace.

At night, a street party will be held at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.

Various groups and sectors will even get a chance for a photo-opportunity with Aquino and Binay.

“Alam mo naman ang Pilipino, mahilig sa kodakan,” commented Montelibano.

Montelibano, meanwhile, promised that the program will also be star-studded. She said concert artists Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera and even the disbanded Apo Hiking Society will do a reprise.

She added that Aquino might just have a surprise number: “Baka mag-song and dance siya.” -- with reports from Pia Hontiveros, ABS-CBN News and ANC

Rest from Badminton

I missed playing badminton, for the last three weeks and 3 more weeks to go, I have to say goodbye temporarily in playing badminton. Why? My helper was on leave for two weeks and hubby will have his 3 weeks vacation here in the Philippines. Yesterday I am scheduled to leave the house at 3pm to fetch hubby at the airport, his arrival is at 4:30 pm and yet I am still doing the laundry at 2pm. Good thing his flight was delayed we arrived at the airport before 6pm because of the heavy traffic. It was a surprised for my kids because they thought that I was just practicing my driving going to the airport.

Later in the evening I got a call from my brother in law, I erroneously dialled his mobile number, he thought I won the lotto, LOL! His work was involved in the lotto, I seldom buy LOTTO tickets because of the little chances of winning. Many Filipinos are very much engaged in online sports betting especially for those people who put their hard earned money in try their luck. My brother in law was even encouraging me to have a lotto outlet, he knows I am eager to put up a small business in preparation for the future of family, being an employee now on a private company is not assurance to have a longer tenure.

Newly Elected Edward Dela Cruz dies in vehicular accident

Edward dela Cruz, the younger brother of actress Angelika dela Cruz, died in a vehicular accident on June 7. He was 28.

An online report said the accident occured in the San Simon section of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX). Apparently, Edward’s Nissan Urvan was hit from behind by a truck. Another vehicle, a Kia Besta, was also rear-ended by the same truck.

The Besta’s driver and a teenage passenger were hurt and rushed to the hospital in San Fernando, Pampanga. However, Edward had been killed instantly—reportedly dead on arrival when brought to the nearest hospital.

Tracy Baky, Angelika’s road manager, told Bulletin Entertainment that as of 2:40 p.m. today, the actress was “still in Pampanga… para kunin ‘yung body.”

Reports have it that upon learning of the accident, Angelika asked Tracy to cancel schedules for the day including a scheduled taping for GMA-7’s “Pilyang Kerubin.”

Tracy noted that they had done a text brigade with Angelika and her whole family extending their gratitude to those who have called in with their condolences. “However, she is asking a big favor, especially to her friends in the media, to please spare [them] this day.”

The road manager said that, eventually, Angelika and her family would be able to make a proper statement.

Edward had, at one point, tried his hand at entering the entertainment business via a all-male vocal group called Freshmen. They had a minor hit in the early 2000 called “Trip Mo Ba,” a theme song from the movie, “Trip.” The group had released several albums and had even performed in Japan.

According to Baky, Edward won as councilor in the recent 2010 national elections. Edward’s remains would most likely be brought back to Malabon for the wake, although the exact location has yet to be confirmed. source
