Willie Out - Kris & Robin In

Actor star Robin Padilla on Thursday said there is no truth to rumors that his talent fee for “Pilipinas, Win na Win” is P25 million a month!

Padilla, one of the hosts of the upcoming noontime television program, said he accepted the project because he wants to bring happiness and fun to other people, and that it has nothing to do with money.

“Hindi ko tinanggap ang project dahil sa pera… Kung ganoon, sa iba na lang mapunta dahil pigain ninyo man ako, walang ganyang usapan,” he said.

“Pilipinas, Win na Win” will replace “Wowowee” on Saturday. “Wowowee’s” controversial main host Willie Revillame’s talent fee was reportedly P1 million per show or around P25 million a month.

Padilla also chose to ignore various intrigues that surfaced following the announcement of ABS-CBN that he will host “Pilipinas, Win na Win.”

When asked if he was able to talk to Revillame about the changes, Padilla said: “Siguro sa pagpapaalam, wala na dahil hindi naman ako bisita na sa programang ito. Pero pinupugay ko po si Ka Willie at sakaling magkita kami bakit naman hindi kami mag-uusap?”

Padilla started his rehearsals for the TV program on Thursday afternoon. He admitted that he was a bit nervous.

During rehearsal, he also practiced his special production number with Pinoy Rock icon Pepe Smith.

Meanwhile, “Pilipinas, Win na Win” business unit head Jay Montelibano confirmed that the newly renovated studio of “Wowowee” will be used for “Pilipinas, Win na Win” on Saturday.

Montelibano promised that they will have a lot of surprises on the show’s star-studded debut on Saturday.

Meanwhile, woman of the hour Kris Aquino is expected to show up during Friday’s rehearsals.

Aquino will arrive on Friday from the United States where she spent a 3-week vacation with her 2 sons. -source ABS-CBN News

Ronald Singson in Hong Kong Jail

Ronald Verzosa Singson has been accused of trafficking in dangerous drugs in Hong Kong and is scheduled to appear at the Tsuen Wan court on Aug. 19.

Singson, 41, was arrested on July 11 at the Customs Arrival Hall of Chek Lap Kok International Airport, with 26.1 grams of cocaine and two tablets of diazepam (a sedative, marketed as Valium), according to court records.

The records also showed that Principal Magistrate Ernest Lin rejected Singson’s application for bail, and that the Filipino national has been detained since.

Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis “Chavit” Singson has denied that the accused is his son, a reelected congressman of the first district of Ilocos Sur and a promoter of big foreign concerts in Manila.

Asked about the report, Representative Singson’s business partner, actor Jomari Yllana, told the Inquirer that he spoke by phone to the governor, who, he said, told him that Ronald was “on his way back to Manila and will make an official statement.”

Chavit Singson said he and his son Ronald were in Mongolia.

According to Comelec records, the middle name of Representative Singson is Verzosa—which has a slightly different spelling from the Ronald Versoza Singson arrested in Hong Kong.

JM Rodriguez, director of Channel V, a cable music station that Ronald owns, also said father and son were in Mongolia and would be “away for a month.” read full story here

SONA day not a holiday

It will be a REGULAR WORKING DAY when President Aquino delivers his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) before the opening session of the 15th Congress on Monday, MalacaƱang said yesterday.

Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said MalacaƱang had to consider the business sector in regarding Monday as an ordinary working day even with the SONA.

“It’s a working day because the administration is not worried about the rallyists. The new administration just came in and so there is no reason to hold protest rallies at this time. That’s the reason why (it’s not a holiday),” Lacierda said.

He said it would be up to the Quezon City government to decide whether to declare a holiday, particularly in the areas near the Batasang Pambansa where Mr. Aquino would deliver his first SONA. source: Philstar.com

Secret Menu

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of ampm. All opinions are 100% mine.

I can't believe that hubby left just three weeks ago, weekends will never be the same again when he left. Now I have to cook again in advance for our one week dishes and back to weekly preparation of our daily set menu. At least by doing this it saves me a lot of time, thinking and worrying what food will I prepare everyday for my kids. While browsing the net, I discovered a useful secret menu tab which can be found in Facebook. The pictures itself are very tempting and my early favorites are the Tower of Torta, Towering Inferno, The Chili Conquistador and the very delicious Hot Chihuahua.

Can't find it? Just click the secret menu tab on their Facebook account and leave your comments on the menu that you like most and why you chose it, who knows you might get a free taste of your favorite item on the secret menu tab! Not only that, you have to prepare yourself for the new Yums that will be coming out on July 26, August 2, 9, 16 and 30 and I'm sure it will all be included in your favorites. Don't forget the important event on August 2 that you can create your own ampm secret menu concoctions right on Facebook. Wow, that's an awesome treat for everyone.

Why Charice got Botox

18-year-old singer Charice is prepping for her upcoming role on "Glee" by doing more than brushing up on her acting skills. At a recent press conference in her native country of the Philippines, the singer revealed she recently got Botox and a skin-tightening Thermage procedure "to look fresh on camera," according to the Associated Press.
Charice was treated by local cosmetic dermatologist Vicki Belo, who is the medical director of several skin clinics in the country. Belo said that she aimed to alter the shape of the singer's "naturally round face."
Charice -- who will play an exchange student on "Glee" and a rival to Lea Michele's Rachel -- admitted she felt pressure to look good for the hit TV series.
"All people will be anticipating how will Charice look? Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry? So of course there is tremendous pressure," she said.
The singer's rep confirms she had Botox, but says it was not for cosmetic purposes. "She's had Botox for some jaw pain she's experiencing." (Botox can be used to ease pain from TMJ.)
However, she noted that Charice will look different on the show: "She had her hair colored at the Brad Johns Studio at Elizabeth Arden," says her rep. "That's the only vaguely cosmetic thing she's done." source: People.com

Prayers

Let us offers prayers for the Filipina who died in a fire in Iraq recently, Maricar Sente. Sente died in the fire at the Hotel Soma in Sulaymaniyah City, Kurdistan Regional Governorate in Iraq. She was an employee of the Asiacell Mobile Company based in the city. Her remains will be here tonight, thanks for the help of our Government officials. She made a short stint in Eastern Telecoms, though she was not a close friend to me, I was really shocked when I heard the news. Let us pray for her and her family.
Lord, as we mourn the sudden death of Maricar Sente, show us the immense power of Your goodness and strengthen our belief that she has entered into Your Presence.

Lord our God, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Maricar was suddenly taken from her family. Come swiftly to her aid, have mercy on her, and comfort her family and friends by the power and protection of the cross. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

I Hate ABS CBN!

I was glued to the television set every night because of the teleseryes on primetime. Their newest was (ehem) Noah starring my greatest crush, Piolo Pascual and Zaijan (a.k.a. Santino). My kids are also watching this because of Zaijan, they liked the plot of the story.
Then after Noah was Agua Bendita which I think will wrap up soon....
Maybe Claudine regretted not doing Magkaribal wherein the ratings are soaring high.
Then finally Rubi, I hope it will end soon so I can sleep early!

Spend Your Money Wisely

Nowadays, there are lots of things that we want to buy. From the techie gadgets up to latest fashion trend, there are several things that capture our attentions. Are they really worth to buy? So, how to spend your money wisely?

Personal finance management has been introduced to everyone during those school days. As a matter of fact, even the uneducated ones know it by heart, what we called the human instinct. This way, one can easily cope with the financial crisis.

An employed individual is not safe from its side effects as well. He or she might experience difficulties during the time between pay days. Good thing about it, or one perk of being employed to companies is the fact they are allowed to go for cash advances. This allows them to have money that can be spent even if it is no longer their salary. Technically, it is still their own salary only that they are getting it in advance. And did you know that is has a psychological effect? It can increase one’s awareness about his or her financial responsibility. Since you would not want to utilize cash advance forever, you become more wary of your expenses. As you track your expenses, you will discover that you become wiser in terms of money matters.
